What makes it good
Open top, head out
They can sit up and see where they're going, which is most of why they'll tolerate it at all.
Internal safety clip
Attaches to a harness so a startled animal can't bolt out of the top. Use it every single time.
Base lifts out
Padded insert holds the shape and washes separately from the bag.
Strap that spreads the load
Wide and padded, because you're carrying a live weight that moves.
The detail
Most carriers are boxes with a grille. Your cat goes in, sees very little, and spends the trip deciding whether this is the end. The Sidekick works the other way round: it is an open-top tote, so their head stays out, they can see where they are going, and they can get out on their own terms.
That is the whole idea. It is not a better box — it is a bag your animal can sit in.
Why open-top helps
Plenty of cats settle better when they can see out and are not fully enclosed. Nothing here forces the issue: there is no door to shut, so the carrier stays somewhere they can leave, which is usually what makes them willing to stay in it. An internal clip attaches to a harness so a startled animal cannot bolt out of the top.
Cats differ. Some take to this immediately, some never take to any carrier, and a very anxious animal is better served by a covered one. If yours has never travelled well, introduce this at home first and do not make the first outing a vet trip.
Details
- Open-top design so your pet can sit up and look out
- Internal safety clip to attach to a harness — use it every time
- Padded, removable base so it holds its shape and washes separately
- Wide, padded shoulder strap to spread the weight across your back rather than cutting in
- Three colourways — Butter, Slate Blue and Fog Grey
Introducing it
- Put it on the floor at home, open, with a blanket that already smells of them inside.
- Leave it there for a few days. Do not put them in it. Let them find it.
- Feed treats in it, then near it, then in it again.
- First trip: five minutes around the block, harness clipped, then home.
Care
Spot-clean the outer with a damp cloth and mild soap. The base pad lifts out and can be washed separately. Air-dry both — a tumble dryer will distort the padding and the shape.
Safety
Always clip the internal strap to a properly fitted harness, never to a collar. Do not leave a pet in the tote unattended, in a car, or in direct sun. Check the weight limit against your animal before you buy.
30-day guarantee
If it is not right, send it back unused and in its original condition within 30 days for a refund. If it arrives damaged, photograph it and we will replace it — no need to post the damaged one back.
